Welcomed author, made appropriate introductions w/principal, etc, showed her around and assisted w/her settling in and made sure she was comfortable and ready to present.
Introduced Amy LV and assisted her with her presentations to each of the 3 different groups of students (operated ppt slides, took video and photos).
Recapped presentations with Amy, discussed student poetry writing and possibility of school participation in a Poetry Tag game where students write poems based on a poem they receive from another student. Saw Amy off and made appropriate thanks and gratitude.
2nd grade: discussed author visit, read some of her poems, brainstormed ideas for poems and wrote them in poetry notebooks. Discussed writing a group poem tomorrow.
